Festivus
Who says winter can’t be fun? Each year in February, Leila Arboretum celebrates the Michigan winter with our annual cardboard sled race. Open to the public, Festivus is a fun filled afternoon of sledding, food, and friendship!
Official Rules:
FESTIVUS 2025: THE CARDBOARD SLED COMPETITION RULES
1. It’s a CARDBOARD sled race. Sleds must be constructed using
cardboard, adhesive and paint ONLY
2. Registration begins at 1 p.m.
3. Must show valid I.D. to purchase adult beverages
4. Safety first: Sledding is inherently dangerous. EVERYONE MUST
SIGN A WAIVER. SLED AT YOUR
OWN RISK!!! ***HELMETS ENCOURAGED***
5. Must be present to receive prize award.
6. HAVE FUN!!! We take our FUNraisers VERY seriously.
Every year the Arboretum sponsors several events onsite. In addition to LAS sponsored events, the Arboretum is host to many community events. Some of these events include: Michigan Metal Fest, New Wave Festival, and the Hospice Butterfly Release.
