The 365 Urban Farm at Leila Arboretum was established in 2017 to grow and provide a local source of fresh fruits and vegetables to our neighbors. The farm is approximately 1.5 acres and is comprised of a mixture of both indoor and outdoor areas at Leila Arboretum including hoop houses, a greenhouse and several field growing areas.
In 2024, Masa Center began a partnership with Leila Arboretum and the Urban and Community Farm to grow Heritage Blue Corn which is native to Michoacán, Mexico. Masa Center’s mission-driven collaboration with the farm provides community gardening education with an emphasis on peer support, mentorship, and sense of cultural space.
365 Urban and Community Farm partners with Battle Creek Public Schools and other K-12 educators to provide hands-on learning programs and field trip opportunities. The farm hosts several community and corporate volunteer workdays each year.
